How often should 
I inspect and test my sprinkler system?

  • NFPA25 requires monthly visual inspections.
  • Some buildings are exempt from NFPA25 but still require monthly visual inspections.
  • In addition, testing is also required monthly, quarterly and annually depending on the type of systems in your building.
  • For systems that fall under FDNY jurisdiction, a 5-Year Test is also required. This includes a hydrostatic test witnessed by the FDNY and an internal inspection of the system’s piping.
